LEARN’s Network of Community Schools, known as Community Learning Centres (CLC Schools), have a dual role in Quebec: student perseverance and community vitality. In CLC Schools, a dedicated coordinator works closely with school principals and staff to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with community-based organizations, municipalities, local businesses, families, and community members. These partnerships result in support to community and school improvement through enhanced access to recreational, educational, social, and cultural opportunities for youth, families, and the English-speaking community at large.
We are looking for families to get involved with the school garden, from May to August. Learn tips for gardening, and bring home delicious, organic vegetables and herbs throughout the summer.
There are many activities for the entire family in Ville Saint Laurent, at the two libraries and in the many parks in the bourough. Click on the buttons below for more information.
Library Program Spring/Summer 2017 Spring Sports/Leisure Activities
This year, our school partnered with McGill's SEDE Homework Zone program to offer tutoring and mentorship to students after school.
The program paired students in grades 4, 5, 6 with university students for homework help (45 min) and a variety of learning actvities (45 min).
To celebrate the end of the program, our students went to visit their tutors... at McGill!

On the evening of March 31st, Parkdale families came to school to celebrate the much-anticipated closing event of I Love to Read Week: Books, Bears and Blankets!
Family favourites were the book tent, the bookmark station, the origami out of old books, and the letter-writing station. The Teddy Bear clinic was a huge success: Every stuffed animal came out good as new, under the care of Dr. Jeannette, Teddy Bear doctor extraordinaire!
A special thank you to our community partners:

On March 18, Parkdale students and their parents put on lab coats and spent the morning making scientific discoveries about the five senses.
This outing was made possible by 'A Montreal School for All' and the Armand-Frappier Institute.
For the second year in a row, Parkdale students participated in a province-wide virtual choir. They learned a song in French, and joined their voices to anglophones all across Quebec. Congratulations to our grade 5 students and their wonderful music teacher, Ms. Susie! A special thank-you to Marla from Canadian Parents for French, for making this project possible!
This year's camp was a great success, with 30 students from both anglophone and francophone schools of our community, coming together to play and practice their French!
This camp was a collaboration between Parkdale CLC and CARI Saint-Laurent, and was made possible with the help of our partners: Canadian Parents for French; Une École Montréalaise Pour Tous; Vert-Cité; Vanier College and Affordance Studios; Dawson College - CRLT program; Musée des Maîtres et artisans du Québec; FIFEM.
See pictures of the CLC family outing to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, October 15th, 2016.

Would you like to play tennis with your children or your friends, but you don’t have any rackets?
Head over to the YMCA(1745 Décarie) between 7AM and 7 PM to borrow some equipment, upon presentation of your carte-loisirs or your library card.
Have fun on the courts of Hartenstein and Cousineau parks!
Be sure to stop by our Little Lending Library near the office. We have lots of books for kids of all ages.
You can bring a book your child no longer reads and exchange it for another one.
Don't have a book to donate? That's OK - you can borrow a book to read and return it for another one when you are done.
